Caviar Club is the sole distributor of the Calvisius Caviar brand for the Czech and Slovak Republic. Calvisius is an Italian brand that has over 40 years of experience producing a fully sustainable Caviar of the highest quality. Sturgeons are kept in sheds with local spring water and environment simulating natural conditions on more than 60 hectares of land, making Calvisius the largest outdoor Caviar farm in the world. Their annual production accounts for over 20% of the world's Caviar production.
Since 2017 we included fresh Oysters into our portfolio. We work directly with the best european Oyster farms and distribute our products to some of the best Restaurants and Hotels in CZ and SK.
For over 1 year we have been scouting for suppliers of Caviar from around the world before we decided to cooperate with the Calvisius Caviar brand. It is very important for us to offer not only the highest quality Caviar, but we also wanted a sustainable product. Calvisius achieved the "Friends of the Sea" certification. The philosophy of the company is to breed quality fish in the most natural conditions. Ponds have natural gravel bottom and fish are fed only with BIO fish diet. Hormones and drugs are never fed to fish at any stage of development.
First-class high-tech equipment as well as an expert team of scientists, consistently ensures the wellbeing of each fish on the farm. In addition, Calvisius is working on a project to release endangered species back into the wild. 400 years ago, these beautiful fish were roaming even Italian waters and Calvisius is trying to turn back the clock.
"A Cake of Pleasure"
Behind the mysterious world of caviar there are many stories, of which the most famous is that the word "Caviar" is derived from "Kahv-Jar", which means "a cake of pleasure" among Iranian people. Another legend claims that the word "Caviar" evolved from the Persian "Khag-viar", translated "black fish eggs". And yet, believe it or not, before it became a delicacy, it was considered to be the diet of the poor and it was one of the basic foods of the fishermen in the Volga and the Caspian Sea!

We are buying our Oysters directly from the best Oyster Farms in France and Holland. Some of our Oysters start their life actually in Ireland and are then transfered to France where they finish their growth. Our portfolio includes Basic Oysters for the occasional Oyster eater as well as very special refined Oysters for the true Oyster Connoisseur.
Mostly we are working with family owned farms with a long tradition in Oyster farming.
